We are receiving reports of players receiving either of those error messages upon launching the game client from Steam.
The problem seems to be caused by a corrupted installation, most likely caused by an Anti-virus.
To fix it, please follow the following steps:
- Whitelist Pax Dei client via your Antivirus Management Interface. Ideally you will whitelist the whole installation folder, on top of Pax Dei's executables.
- Visit your Antivirus site for instructions on how to whitelist an application and/or a folder.
- Open Steam and locate "Pax Dei" in your library
- Right click on "Pax Dei" and select "Properties..."
- Select "Installed files" on the left menu
- Click on "Verify integrity of game files"
Important: It could be that your EAC installation has been corrupted too, we strongly suggest you visit our "Troubleshooting Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) Installation Issues" article to confirm its installation is correct.
