How to manually install EAC
When you first install the game, EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) should automatically install. If this does not happen follow these steps:
- Locate the Game Installation Folder: Navigate to the folder where your game is installed (in most case C:\Games\Pax Dei\default\game. For Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PaxDei)
- Install Easy Anti-Cheat: Select the EAC folder and look for a file named Install.bat or similar within the game's installation folder. This batch file is specifically designed to install or repair EAC.
- Run as Administrator: Right-click on the Install.bat file and select "Run as Administrator." This ensures the installer has the necessary permissions to install EAC correctly.
How to manually repair (Source: EAC Knowledge Base)
If there is a problem with Easy Anti-Cheat such as an error when you try to start a game using it, you can try using the service self-repair feature.
- Open a Command Prompt as Administrator
- Run the command:
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat_EOS
- Run the command:
EasyAntiCheat_EOS.exe repair
- It is normal that no text is output. The next command will confirm that it worked.
- Run the command:
echo %ERRORLEVEL%
- If you see 0 then the repair operation succeeded. If you see something else then it failed. Make sure you are running an Administrator Command Prompt and try again.
Additional tips:
- Check for updates: Sometimes, issues with EAC can be resolved by updating the game to the latest version, as patches may include fixes for compatibility issues with EAC.
- Disable Antivirus Temporarily: Some antivirus software might block EAC from installing correctly. Try temporarily disabling your antivirus while you install EAC, and remember to enable it again afterward.
