In Pax Dei, clans are more than just a means to an end; they're a way to connect, strategize, and share memorable experiences with fellow players from around the globe (we are an MMO after all!)
These are some of the common issues you might encounter while managing or participating in clan activities. This guide aims to help you understand and resolve some common errors related to clan activities in the game.
How to Create a Clan?
To create a clan, you need to:
- Open the clan interface ("O")
- Click on "Find a clan"
- Click on "Create a new clan"
- Enter the name for your clan:
- Min characters required: 2
- Max characters: 30
- Clan's name support all unicode letters; any letter from any alphabet
- Clan's name do not support symbols or numerics
- Clan's names are unique per world
- Click on "Create Clan"
Note: Your clan name need to follow our community rules. Clan name that will not follow it will be immediately disbanded and might lead to an action on the creator's account (up to definitive ban)
- Potential error message:
- Error 312: Clan name is already taken
- Error 313: Clan name is too long
- Error 314: Clan name is too short
- Error 315: Clan name has invalid characters

How to Join a Clan?
There are 2 ways to join a clan:
- You can apply
- Open the Clan Interface ("O")
- Click on "Find Clan" and search for the clan you want to apply to
- Optional: You can write something that will be seen by the clan's recruiter.
- Please make sure to respect our Community Guidelines; otherwise not only you are likely to be denied by the clan but actions can be taken on your account (up to permanent ban)
- Click on "Apply"
You are done! You now just need to wait for someone from the clan to review your application!

- If an avatar is part of an existing clan, it must exit that clan before joining a different one

- You can be invited directly
- Anyone with the required permission will have the option "Invite to clan" when interacting with an avatar in game
- Selecting this option and hitting "e" will send a clan's invite to this avatar
- The avatar invited will receive a notification
- They need to open it ("N") and either Accept or Deny the invitation.

How to Manage a Clan?
- Clan advertisement

- To promote your clan and recruit new members, you can use the 'clan advertisement' section to create announcements aimed at attracting new players that are visible to everyone. Only avatars with permission can post announcements.
- Potential error message:
- Error 322: You don’t have permission to change recruitment message
- Clan announcement

- Within your clan, it is possible to make announcements for your events and global communications. Click “O” to open the Clan Interface and go on the “Announcements” section. You can now create a new clan announcement and submit it by clicking on “Submit”
- These announcements will be visible to all members and new recruits.

- Error 319: You don’t have permission to post announcements
- Heraldry

- To edit clan heraldry, Click “O” to open the Clan Interface
- When using “Edit clan heraldry” you can customize symbols, patterns, colors, and all the elements that can make your clan unique within Pax Dei.
- Note: for colors that you can only use a selection of pre-selected colors integrated within the game.

- Error 321: You don’t have permission to change heraldry

- Promote/Demote avatar

- Click “O” to open the Clan Interface
- Within the 'Clan' interface, simply click on the avatar of one of the members to be able to promote/demote them to the desired rank within the clan
- Note: Alderman cannot be promoted further as this is already the highest rank....and Villagers cannot be demoted as this is already the lowest rank

- Review pending invites / Applicants / Kick
- If you have permission to review or accept clan applications, you just need to click on the “Accept” button of the application. Go in the Clan Interface (Click “O” to open the Clan Interface) and click on Memberships, you will be able to see the Applicants and Pending Invites.
- If an application is not found, please ask the applicant to create a new one.
- You can also kick some avatars if you have the permission, please note that Alderman cannot be kicked. To kick someone from your clan, go to the Clan Interface, simply click on the avatar of the member you want to kick and select
- Potential error message:
- Error 310: Clan application cannot be found
- Error 307: Alderman cannot be kicked
- Error 318: You don’t have permission to kick players
- Disband clan
- In the Clan interface (Click “O” to open the Clan Interface), go to Membership and click on Disband Clan
- Only Alderman can disband a clan. To disband a clan, all members need to be excluded from the clan.

- Error 324: You don’t have permission to disband the clan
- Error 325: You cannot disband clan with members in it
- In the Clan interface (Click “O” to open the Clan Interface), go to Membership and click on Disband Clan
Please note that you’ll not be able to perform some actions if you are not in a clan or if the avatar you are interacting with is not in your clan. You will then need to join/apply to a clan or ask the avatar to apply to your clan.

How to Leave a Clan?
If you want to leave your current clan, you simply need to go in the Clan Interface (Click “O” to open the Clan Interface), right-click on your avatar, then select and confirm the 'leave clan' option.
